My name is Cecil Thompson. I am a Christian and an African American male. I saw your interview with Chris Cuomo on ABC. The topic centered on the Henry Louis Gates controversey. Your responses to him were on point. I thank you for your fearlessness and courage, which allow you to continue speaking out on issue of racial oppression. Thanks for pointing out that fact that we now have an African-American President is not a magic wand that has waved the race problem away. I believe the present political climate (i.e., the so-called post-racial climate) makes it so much easier for the struggles of the oppressed to be swept under the rug. Thank you very much.
